Deer Class (Year 6)

Welcome to Deer Class

Miss Musson - Class TeacherMrs Brown - My Teaching Assistant

Mrs Brown and I are really excited to be teaching you in Year 6 from September.

I’ve seen all of you around the school as well as speaking to Mr Da Costa but I am really looking forward to getting to know you properly.

When we come back, I will make sure you have plenty of time to settle in.  Mr Ola always says that Year 6 is hard work but it is also an opportunity for more freedom, responsibility and fun!

At school I like to teach Maths- using creative thinking and building problem-solving skills.  I also like to plan fun, practical experiments for science or D&T although it can sometimes get messy.  You may have noticed I am bit of a drama queen so also love teaching drama at any opportunity!

At home I like to bake and cook - I experiment with new recipes every weekend.  If I find time to chill, I watch Disney +. When I was younger, I dreamed of working at one of the parks as a character.

I am looking forward to exploring, discovering and making time for some other things I love to teach.

The future always hold so many possibilities and I am excited to learn about them together.

On our class page you can see a gallery of our learning, events and our achievements.

We try to add our learning to this page as often as possible but please don't forget to check out our school twitter page or follow us @Mercerswood

Deer Class Contact Form

If you have anything you would like to ask or raise please complete the below form with as much detail as possible and Mrs Brown or myself will contact you as soon as we can.

Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice.

Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practised every third week or so.

This format has very successfully boosted times tables recall speed for hundreds of thousands of pupils over the last 8 years in over 14,000 schools - both primary and secondary - worldwide.
