How We Communicate
Over the coming weeks we will be changing our Communication/Payment systems.
We will be using a new system called Arbor. The system will be used by us to send any correspondence to parents and will also enable you to book/pay online for any trips, clubs, events etc and book parents evening slots.
To ensure you receive all correspondence from us, you will need to download the Arbor App. To do this please search for ‘Arbor’ in you App Store/Google Play Store. The picture below shows you which is the correct App.
Once you have downloaded the App, please wait for further correspondence from ourselves.
Our page is full of fun things we have been doing in class and in school.
Our school Twitter & Facebook page is public so we can reach a wider community. If you have any problems with any photos or wish to contact us regarding any concerns you have please do not hesitate to do so!
When adverse weather conditions are being experienced, that is when ice and snow are on the ground, all children and adults who come on to the school site are requested to only use the treated footpaths. If your child makes their own way to school, please ensure they are aware of this instruction. Your continued support in keeping our school site safe is very much appreciated.
In the unlikely event that we are required to close the school due to extreme weather conditions or an emergency situation, parents will be informed by the following means of communication:
We will always endeavor to notify parents at the earliest opportunity to enable them to make alternative childcare arrangements if necessary.
Children in Yr5 Oak and Yr4 Silver Birch will begin swimming sessions on Tuesday 10th September 2019 and will continue until 11th February 2020.
Children should bring swimming kit, including a swimming hat and £2.00 voluntary contribution to school every Tuesday. It is the Leisure Centre's policy that all children must wear swim hats. Swim hats can be purchased from the school office for £1. Please ensure children do not wear earrings when attending a swim lesson, unless they are able to remove them. It is the child's responsibility to ensure the earrings are stored safely.
The Government Regulations changed in September 2013, which meant that educational establishments could no longer authorise absence for holidays. However, you can request an absence for exceptional circumstances.
If you do need to make a request to take your child out of school during term time for exceptional circumstances, please collect the relevant form from the school office. Once completed, a decision will be made at the earliest opportunity and you will be notified of the outcome in writing by our Attendance and Healthcare Officer.
You will also be required to complete a form when your child has a medical appointment and proof of the appointment will be required alongside to authorise the absence.
If you need to collect your child early for any reason, a form will also need to be completed for this.
All of the relevant forms can be found within the school office.
Newsletters are produced each term and can be downloaded from this website. All children will bring home one copy of the Newsletter and we will also put a copy on the website. If you would like to see anything different in the newsletters, please let us know.
