Trust Governance Overview

Welcome to the Governance Area

Governance at Tall Oaks Academy Trust is split into three levels:

Local Governing Bodies

Each school has its own Local Governing Body that is made up of community governors, parent governors and a staff representative. Local governors take responsibility for holding leaders to account for the day-to-day running of the school, education standards, safeguarding and other school-specific areas.

Trustees
Our trustees have responsibility for the strategic direction of the Trust. Trustees oversee the financial and legal sides of operating our schools and central team and act as ‘critical friends’ to the senior leaders in the trust, holding them to account for the performance of the schools.

Members
Our members are the final layer of governance in our trust and they are there to oversee the Board of Trustees, ensuring that the Trustees are executing their roles in accordance to the agreed frameworks.

The Trust also has an additional Finance Audit and Operations Committee.

Accounting Officer: Mrs S Wilson
