Mrs Vic Warburton
I am the Interim Head Teacher at Castle Wood Academy and have been in post since October 2022. I have worked for Tall Oaks Academy Trust for several years and my previous role was Head of Teaching and Learning, working across all three schools as part of the Trust central team. I have many years of school improvement work behind me, not only in Lincolnshire but further afield. Before joining Tall Oaks, I worked as the Head of Teaching and Learning for a large Trust based in Nottingham which saw me supporting Head Teachers and senior leaders in moving their schools forward at pace. I am currently in my 20th year of ‘teaching’ and I can honestly say that being the Interim Head Teacher at Castle Wood Academy has been one of the highlights so far.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my partner, our 8 year old son and two dogs. We recently bought a ‘project house’ so are spending many a weekend stripping wallpaper, ripping out carpets and, on the odd occasion, calling emergency plumbers!
Mrs C Kirk
Link Trustee to LGBs
Responsible for oversight of Local Governing Bodies
Mrs Holly Anderson
Responsible for Safeguarding, Curriculum / Standards and Outcomes
My name is Holly and I am the Chair of Governors at Castle Wood Academy.
I have been a Parent Governor since December 2017. I have been delegated the responsibility of Curriculum, Standards and Outcomes, and more recently Safeguarding.
For the past 15 years, I have been a Primary School Teacher, working in our local community. I have worked across many roles and had various responsibilities. My background in education has given me the understanding to assist Castle Wood Academy in moving forward, but also to challenge, so that we have the best possible academic and personal outcomes for all our children.
It is my belief that education works best when the school works together with parents and carers and I endeavour to support the school in building those strong partnerships for the good of the children. With this in mind, I am always keen to share positive feedback or raise concerns to ensure we can best support our pupils and families, so please do come and talk to me if there is anything you would like to discuss.
Mrs Rachel Woodcock
Responsible for Safeguarding & Behaviour
My name is Rachel and I am new to governance having started with CWA in early 2023. I have a child who is currently in Y1 at the school. I am a government solicitor with transferable skills appropriate to school governance, to be able to analyze and critique potential attainment gaps and pinpoint opportunities for both school and pupil improvement for example. I have a strong interest in all aspects of safeguarding and that our children should always come first.
I have been given the responsibilities of behaviour, some attendance and safeguarding. I am keen to ensure that all children are safeguarded and all staff are properly supported. My professional skills, combined with my passion for making a difference to the lives of children means I am committed to supporting our school. With this in mind, I am always happy to hear your comments- good or bad, so please do come and talk to me if there is anything you would like to discuss.
Outside of this, I have a husband, two children and horses.
Mrs Janette Kennedy
Responsible for SEND and Finance.
My name is Janette Kennedy, and I am currently the Headteacher of a wonderful Special School in Lincoln. I am in my 12th year of Headship, and 20th year in Education.
Prior to working within SEND, I taught across a range of mainstream primary schools. I still believe teaching is the best job in the world and absolutely love my job!
On a personal level, I am a proud Mum to 2 (adult) children and a proud Step-mum to 2 more. Family time is very important to me, and I love holidays…and Christmas!
I am very excited to be a part of Castlewood’s Governing Body and look forward to working closely with both the SEND team and the whole school community.
My name is Sarah Moss, and I am the staff governor at Castle Wood Academy and have been a member of the Local Governing Body since June 2022. I have been delegated the responsibility of SEND and as staff governor, I share the views and where appropriate, the concerns of staff and act as a conduit between staff and the governing body.
This academic year was the start of my 15th year working in education. I have held various posts in a variety of educational settings in West Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and I currently work and reside in West Lindsey and have been a member of the Castle Wood Academy community for 5 years. I am currently one of two Year 2 teachers and I am awaiting accreditation for the Senior Mental Health Lead training that I completed in June last year.
I have been proudly teaching for 6 years and I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work with our wonderful pupils and amazing staff. I am a passionate champion of the importance of mental health and well-being for pupils and adults, and I have been responsible for leading Personal, Social, Economic and Health education at Castle Wood for the last 3 years. As a teacher, I feel rewarded by my governor role as the pupils at Castle Wood Academy deserve nothing but the best that we can give.
